The Bizarre Bazaar Benefit Redistribution of Goods will be held in conjunction with the Baronial Polling. The site is the Discovery Learning Center at the University of Colorado College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, 1011 Engineering Drive, in Boulder. For those unfamiliar with this event, many, many SCA-useful items will be on offer. For $1 per ticket, you can purchase chances to win these items which will be allotted by drawings for each item. All proceeds go to the Baronial coffers. We have many wonderful items donated so far, but we welcome more! Clean out your closets and garage, and see what you have that you no longer need or want that might be useful to someone else. Categories you might consider include, but are not limited to: garb, accessories, feast gear, jewelry, fabric, trim, camping equipment...you get the idea. Or, donate a service! In the past people have donated certificates for custom-made banners, garb, back scrolls, etc (if you haven't seen Max's quilt that he won at a previous year's event, ask for a look). We have seen donations of a dinner party - cooked for you by the donor. Please note: alcoholic beverages, such as homemade liqueurs, are welcome donations. However, the actual liquor cannot be present at the event, as the site is dry. A certificate to be redeemed later must suffice. Caer Galen is exceedingly blessed with talented artisans - use your imagination! More valuable high-end items will be placed for Silent Auction instead of being raffled off. (I have it on good authority that at least one sari may find its way to this area of the event.) If you have items to donate, please contact Mistress Francesca and let her know what you have. You can either deliver your donations to her in advance of the event, or you can bring them on the day; but she would like to know roughly what's coming so she can plan space effectively. The Baronial Polling will be held at the same time and location. Pkease contact the Seneschal, THL Jeanne-Marie, or the Polling Autocrat, Mistress Meenakshi, with questions about the polling. There is NO SITE FEE for this event! Seating is limited - we encourage you to bring your own chairs. No meal is planned, but a snack sideboard is. Donations of finger-food snacks are welcome and encouraged. There are some tables on site, but we will need more to hold all the items for raffle. If you can bring a table, please let Mistress Francesca know. We're hoping to avoid having to rent any. There is lovely space outside the event room where armored and rapier fighters may play. If anyone would like to hold tournaments, please contact the autocrat. (If the tournaments are also fundraisers, either for the Barony or for a good charitable cause, so much the better.) | ||||||||
