The Knight Marshal is responsible for all fighting-related activities in the Barony. This includes making sure that new fighters are properly trained, that established fighters are aware of new rules, that there are marshals available to supervise during fighting, and so on.

The Minister of Arts and Sciences encourages local artists, and lets the Kingdom know what our artisans are doing. As a side-effect of this, the MoAS is a good person to ask about who is pursuing any particular craft (weaving, sewing, armoring, brewing, etc).

The Herald coordinates two areas of activity. The first, sometimes referred to as "book heraldry", involves helping people research unique names and devices for their personae. The second, referred to as "voice heraldry", is the making of announcements at events. This latter duty could be served on the fighting field ("field heraldry"), at Court ("court heraldry"), or simply keeping people posted of upcoming happenings at events ("crying the event").

The Baronial Scribe coordinates illuminators and calligraphers to create the scrolls handed out by Their Excellencies.


Hospitaller

The Hospitaller is the Barony's "Welcome Wagon." This Officer tries to make sure that new members are aware of local, Kingdom, and Society-wide customs; when and where things are happening; and that they have suitable garb for attending events. To this end, the Hospitaller has an inventory of loaner garb that has been donated for the use of new members until they are able to acquire their own.

The Minister of the Lists organizes and runs the fighting tournaments. This officer determines the order of bouts and keeps track of the winners.


Quartermaster

The Quartermaster (or Quartermistress) keeps track of the Baronial stuff. Over the years, quite a bit of stuff has been accumulated, from sunshades to aluminum foil to spices. If you are running an event and need something, please ask this officer if we have it before buying a new one.
